The 22 week Technical English Foundation Courses are designed to prepare students for further training in a variety of aviation-related disciplines. Each course uses the most appropriate balance of Technical English Language, Mathematics and Science to thoroughly prepare the students academically and linguistically for the next phase of their training. The emphasis in Technical English Foundation Courses is on helping students to become less reliant on the teacher and more independent in their learning. Students study individually, in small groups and as a class, utilising a broad range of material, from the latest multimedia technology to teacher-based material. A major feature of the courses is the incorporation of materials to be used by the students in the next phase of their training and in the workplace. The courses have been designed so that the students learn a range of scientific and mathematical skills and concepts through the medium of English. In all courses full use is made of the Learning Resource Centre.
