The colleges fixed wing fleet comprises Piper PA28-181 Archer II single engine aircraft and Piper PA34-220T Seneca III twin engine aircraft and a Diamond DA42. Both types are fully airways equipped and air-conditioned and are perfectly suited to the training role. The avionics are new generation and in keeping with our forward- looking policy of introducing advanced cockpit elements of training including weather radar, which has been incorporated into the Seneca III’s and a glass cockpit in the Diamond. Generic Frasca 141 and 242 simulators, developed to replicate the Archer and the Seneca respectively, allow impressive flexibility while simulating drills and flight procedures. The 242 FRASCA also has a visual system. Students are able to cover all aspects from the very basic to the most advanced areas of the flight envelope. Generic Frasca 141 and 242 simulators are being replaced by State of the Art Generic FNPTII devices enabling MEC/JOT courses to be completed.
